The Situation

Castingflix is a talent discovery and casting platform connecting aspiring actors, models, and performers with real opportunities across India. The product was strong. The ambition was clear. But when it came to building a consistent, scalable pipeline of registered talent the digital system simply wasn't working.

Before Alpha, Castingflix was spending on ads without a defined funnel. Creatives were running broadly, budgets were spreading thin across too many audiences, and the platform had no geo-focused strategy to build a concentrated, high-quality talent base in any specific region.

The biggest opportunity was staring them in the face and nobody had pointed the camera at it.

Ranchi and Jharkhand. A massive, aspirational, and almost entirely untapped market for a talent platform like Castingflix. Young people with drive, ambition, and limited access to mainstream opportunities exactly the audience that converts hard when you speak their language and show up in their feed with the right message.

The brief to Alpha was direct: build a lead generation engine that actually delivers registered talent, not just impressions. With real ad spend behind it. With real targeting behind it. And real results at the end of it.

What We Built

The first thing we did was throw out the broad India approach entirely.

Geo-concentration is one of the most underused strategies in talent platform marketing. Instead of spreading ₹10 lakhs across 20 states and getting noise everywhere, we concentrated the entire campaign firepower on Ranchi and the Jharkhand region building depth of reach and frequency in a single market before expanding outward.

Here is exactly how the system was built:

Audience Architecture

We built three distinct audience layers for Jharkhand. The first was a primary audience of 17–28 year olds in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, and Bokaro people who followed entertainment, Bollywood, modelling, and talent-related content. The second was a parent audience 35–50 year olds whose children were in that age bracket because in Jharkhand's cultural context, family support is a key conversion driver. The third was a lookalike audience built from Castingflix's existing registered talent data, finding new people who matched the profile of those who had already converted.

Creative Strategy

Generic ads don't work for talent platforms. Aspiring performers need to feel seen not sold to. We built three distinct creative angles. The first was aspiration-led: real success stories of talent who had gotten opportunities through Castingflix, filmed testimonial-style, showing real faces and real results from the region. The second was urgency-led: registration windows, audition cycles, and opportunity deadlines creating a genuine reason to act now. The third was community-led: showing the Castingflix talent community as active, growing, and full of people just like the viewer.

Every creative was shot or edited specifically for a Jharkhand audience. Local cultural references, Hindi-dominant copy, and faces that looked like the target audience not stock model faces from a Mumbai studio.

The Funnel

Clicks from the ads went to a dedicated landing page not the Castingflix homepage. The page had one job: get the visitor to register their talent profile. Above the fold: a strong headline about the opportunity, a short form, and social proof from existing registered talent. No distractions. No navigation. One CTA.

Post-registration, a WhatsApp automation sequence fired immediately welcoming the new talent, explaining the next steps, and keeping them engaged with the platform. This was critical: talent platforms have a high churn rate between registration and actual active use. The WhatsApp sequence reduced that drop-off significantly.

Campaign Structure

The ₹10 lakh budget was deployed across 6 months in a structured escalation:

Month 1–2: Testing phase multiple creative formats, audience variants, and landing page versions running simultaneously. Budget conservative. Data collection the priority.

Month 3–4: Scale phase winning creatives and audiences identified and scaled aggressively. Budget increased on proven combinations. Retargeting layer activated for all landing page visitors who didn't register.

Month 5–6: Dominance phase Castingflix became the most visible talent platform in Jharkhand's digital ecosystem. Frequency was high, brand recall was strong, and registrations were flowing consistently.

Why This Matters

₹15–20 CPL for a talent platform is the kind of number that changes what's possible for a business.

It means every lakh of ad spend is generating 500–650 registered talent leads. It means Castingflix can now forecast their talent pipeline the same way a product company forecasts sales. It means the randomness is gone replaced by a system with predictable inputs and predictable outputs.

But the bigger lesson from this campaign isn't the CPL. It's the geo-concentration strategy.

Most entertainment and talent platforms try to be everywhere at once pan-India campaigns with thin budgets spread across hundreds of cities. The result is low frequency, low recall, and weak conversion. Castingflix chose a different approach: own one market completely before expanding. And in Ranchi and Jharkhand, they own it.

That's not luck. That's not a one-time result. That's a system built with intent and a market strategy that most competitors in this space still haven't figured out.
